Otis, I notice
Is lumbered with greed
She never has learned
That there’s time between feeds
She’ll sit round and meow
Like a beggar instead
And pretend to my friends
That she never gets fed
It’s not like she’s skinny
But nor is she fat
She gets enough food though
The sneaky wee cat
It’s always a meal time
By Otis o’clock
It tells her she’s hungry
With every tick tock
And Otis, I notice
Will hear when it chimes
And then she’ll remind me
“Hey You, it’s food time!”
