“A human being is a part of the whole universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a prison, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”
— Albert Einstein
Yep often our lives are very narrow and we have permanent tunnel vision. Our concerns trivial compared to the big picture and we spent all our energy and lifetime chasing after unimportant stuff and not appreciating what we already have.
This reminds me of a poem I wrote about peeps not having time to just stop and spot the peeps in need and help. I’ll post it later.

It is true – we are more trivial than we realise, yet we are also grander than we realise. Another universal paradox…
